There’s a new tulip in town! Today Bert Koenders, the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Mayor Kasja Ollongren from the city of Amsterdam presented the Tulipa Spinoza. This deep purple colored beauty was just revealed at the festive Tulip Day at the Dam in Amsterdam and is named after one of the greatest European philosophers of all time. Spinoza’s legacy is still inspiring Amsterdam. His plea for freedom of speech, thoughts and religion is as relevant as ever.

Today also marks the start of the new tulip season. To celebrate a huge tulip garden has emerged at the Dam in Amsterdam where visitors can pick a nice bouquet of tulips for free!
